Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Do you have a recital?
A: Yes! we have a spring recital, sometime in May or early June. They are themed recitals that showcase all levels and styles at FGSD. This performance is a wonderful opportunity for each dancer, so please try and make those vacations afterwards and don't miss out on this yearly event!
Q: Do your snow cancellations follow that of the school district, Talawanda?
A: No, we don't not follow the cancelations of Talawanda. The class times are at opposite times of the day and sometimes when the conditions are not good in the morning they are perfectly fine in the late afternoon/evening. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAILS when pending weather may be questionable. You can also always double check by texting Ashley. Please note our holiday schedule is also different.
Q: What is the require class attire? (please make note of the answer to the following question as well)
A: GIRLS; A simple colored leotard (black recommended, other colors not too sparkly, bulky or bold), with pink or tan tights. An attached or unattached simple skirt is fine as well. For shoes pink or canvas/leather ballet flats. Please do not buy the cheapy slipper kind from your local stores. They tend to fall off. BOYS; solid colored shirt and black stretchable pants. Black or White shoes
Q: Do you have costumes for the recital?
A: At our studio we strive to keep recital cost a minimum. The costumes are bought/sewed and kept by the studio to add to the costume collection for future productions. We may ask a small recital fee ($5-$20) to help cover costs or for some classes we may ask you to buy a certain colored article of clothing. Those particular bought items are normally kept by the dancers.
MANDaTORY for recital is that all dancers have a black camisole/tank leotard and pink or tan tights (depends on the year or age). You may want to buy a black leotard for their normal class attire. Class levels 2 and higher need to have a nude leotard as well (for under costumes).
Q: Where can I purchase dance wear?
A: Locally the best place to buy your dance wear is Back Stage in Hamilton off of Eaton Ave. Please mention our studio name when you make your purchase, as you may get a discount. If you like making purchases online we recommend Please make sure the read the fitting guides throughly
and reading reviews will tell you how accurate those guides are. Also type in the code TP28530 to help our studio out!
Q: Can I stay and watch my childs class?
A: Yes, our waiting room is actually adjacent to our dance floor with only a small few steps seperating them. This is both wonderful and not so wonderful at times. You are welcome to view your childs class but if your child better focuses with you out of the room we also have a lobby waiting area right outside our studio door. We do ask that you be mindful of the noise level and try to keep it down for the students and teacher to hear one another.
